Coming soon...

Sunday is Funday

This guy took a pretty good smackdown. But he didn't have the added mass of a helmet or pads that would have increased the impact trauma. -M

Wipe that smile off your face boy!

Our man griss was running on one good lung and one full of phlegm, but rode a good race today. Good mounts/dissmounts as you can see in the video. It was an MF of a course. I'm glad I was spectating and not riding. Those dudes looked like they were suffering.

Outlaw #4

Yo,

OutlawCross #4 was super fun! I was so far out in front I decided to stop and take pictures. GBG took advantage and powered forward to victory despite my best efforts at de-motivation from the start finish. The Restless Ape was a little dismayed at the last two laps, but the dirt coating his two front teeth showed how he really felt.

Thank's to the Truckee Crossophiles for setting this up. We'll pay you back with an outlaw race down here.

Love and kisses,

Whiteout

Others will attest to the fact that using whiteout in a laboratory is about as stupid as like, using testosterone in the middle of the Tour de France, or something.

smithers!

Steve S. was down from the Lake last weekend to check out the local trails and see a bit of the town. Weather was perfect, trails were fun, and there was plenty a goin' on around the hood. Rode tracks on Peavine Saturday, then span straight into the neighborhood Pub for a recovery drink and some za. Gud times!

fixed It

in anticipation of a great ski season, and therefore a heinous mud season on the singletrack commute, i ressurected an old road/touring frame and prep'd it as a fixed gear bike for commuting and town riding. i replaced only what was toasted and purchased as little as possible, digging into the bin-o-parts to scavenge for "upgrades." the bike, from here on known as "Harlan," cleaned up nice. i've put about a hunerd miles on it commuting and running social calls in the last week plus and the legs are comfortably numb. riding a fixed gear bike might just be one of the best dry land training approaches for tele season! that, and to make a leaner, meaner one speeder! a few pics of the process...

initial conditions

boneyard

the original seatpost was a bit short, and an odd size. no prob, just take a few 1/1000th off a spare mtn post from the box-o-parts

readers, meet "Harlan."

happy trails,
J.r.

Be sure to check back in tomorrow for pics, report and commentary on the Outlaw Cross Race #3 from truckee. I'm going to make sure Shawn keeps his pants on this time.

Water is off at the lab. Fortunately I wasn't burdened by that knowledge until I tried to flush down a three coil steamer. Both men's rooms are now thusly occupied.

Dia Del Muerte

I'd like to say that it was skill that produced this result so fast, but in fact Illustrator has a new tool that just vectorizes images instantly. I still have to do the editing, but that will basically be easy.

Bonktoberfest!

Harvest Moon this Friday night, fullyfullon at 23:15. Let's go night ridin', see what color the aspens are in HID flood, then, tear into some recovery drinks and usher in the preskiseason. How about meetin' up 18:00 at the TRT trailhead north of 267, ride towards Martis Pk, and ononon...

Alleycat

This was fun. Had to bag the after party, though that sounded awesome. I learned a lot. Mostly that it's probably not good to be the first or the last into the intersection against a red. (you can see me just left of center (HA!!) in the black)

Post, the first

As discussed with Kevizizzle and the Kangdigity Saturday, here is the place to post your disgusting vids, links and musings to avoid the embarrassing scenerio when you're telling a car load of dudes about the donkey show you saw on youtube and laughing, then realizing that you forgot to send it to everyone (might also prevent you sending it to your aunt millie).

Also might as well use this for rallying troops for rides or pubcrawls. I don't forsee doing much pubcrawling, but you never know. Smella has a little friend coming over to play Thursday, so I'm open to options. Perhapse watching McD bust his face open falling off his new fixie... Here's a vid:
